‘It has become gradually more subtle over the years. I am more restrained now. When I was younger, I wanted to fill all the blank surfaces. The more the prettier, I thought. I couldn’t stand large, empty spaces.’
Sven Fristedt – Master of Patterns is a retrospective exhibition about Sven Fristedt’s long and comprehensive artistry, from his first prints for the textile industry at the end of the 1950s to brand new handmade prints and sculptures. Its content has been selected in close collaboration with the artist.
