Mittens and gloves were often wedding gifts. They were adorned with embroidery well into the nineteenth century. Knitted white cotton gloves began to appear in north-west Scania at the end of the eighteenth century.
The bib is a legacy of the fashionable dress of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. It was placed in the neckline of the bodice.
Waist bands occurred throughout Scania, but it was above all in the east that women wore broad, richly decorated bands.
Aprons were indispensable accessories. All types from narrow and short ones to very wide and ankle-length ones. Striped wool and cotton aprons were common in the late eighteenth century and the first half of the nineteenth century. White aprons were a part of the festive costume, as were silk aprons introduced at the end of the eighteenth century.
