Kulturen's Christmas Fair (Julstök med julmarknad) is an experience for all the senses. Try some tasty street food or sip a warming cup of mulled wine as you browse over 90 market stalls full of seasonal foods, decorations and craft & design. Peek into the museum’s historical houses, where staff in historic dress wait to tell you more about Christmas as it was celebrated in the past. At the close of each day, a traditional Lucia procession fills the air with song as it makes its way through the museum grounds.
The market opens on Friday evening, perfect for an after–work wander through the festive lights of the bustling museum and market. Saturday and Sunday offer something for the whole family, including child-friendly activities such as Christmas crafts, dancing around the tree and a visit to Father Christmas.

Take an evening stroll through the museum grounds and explore the Christmas market, aglow with lanterns, fire baskets and twinkling fairy lights. There will be plenty of warm food to feast on, or gather your nearest and dearest and grill your own hotdog on the outdoor barbecue. Soak up the atmosphere while you enjoy a cup of mulled wine and listen to some live Christmas music or watch the daily St Lucia procession pass by. A couple of the historical houses will be open and invite you to warm yourself by the fire as you hear about Christmas preparations from the past.
Saturday 28 November & Sunday 29 November 11:00–18:00
The fair continues on Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of festive activities. Don’t forget to visit our historical buildings where staff in traditional costume will be happy to tell you about how Christmas was celebrated in the past.
For children there will be lots to see and do. The workshop in Allmogehallen will be open throughout the day for those who love to do a bit of Christmas crafting, or pay a visit to the Onsjö Cottage, where wish lists can be written and hand delivered to Santa. To really get in the spirit there’s even dancing round the Christmas tree to live music.
The rest of the market continues as usual, with indoor and outdoor market stalls selling a wide array of handcrafted products, hot food and traditional Swedish “fika”, and a packed program of live music, including the daily Lucia procession at closing time.
All our exhibitions are open as usual during the Christmas Fair!
Admisson
Admission for adults is SEK 160, for senior citizens SEK 125 and for students SEK 125. Admission is free for Kulturen members and visitors aged 0–18.
Pay by card or Swish
You’re welcome to pay by card or Swish at the entrance. Please note that we don’t accept cash. The same goes for the vendors at the Christmas market – very few of them accept cash.
